Benzino Shares Photos After Being Shot By Nephew At His Mom’s Funeral

Even Mona Scott-Young couldn’t make this up!

Yesterday, almost turned out tragic for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Benzino after he was shot by his nephew while en route to his mother’s funeral.  According to reports, his nephew Gai Scott pulled up to Benzino’s car during the funeral procession, and fired a few shots that hit the 48-year-old media executive in the right arm.  He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently recovering with his business partner Dave Mays, Stevie J and fiancée Thi Thi by his side.

In a statement posted on his Instagram page, he said:

I JUST WANNA THANK EVERYBODY WHO PRAYED AND SENT THEIR SINCERE CONCERNS FOR ME AND MY MOM, SHE WAS FINALLY LAID TO REST AMONGST ALL THE CHAOS, YOUR KIND WORDS AND THOUGHTS HAVE REALLY HELPED ME HEAL FASTER. ALTHOUGH I WILL HAVE A LONG ROAD OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AHEAD OF ME, I WILL BE EVEN STRONGER. GOD IS GREAT AND THE DEVIL IS A LIE.

His fiancée Althea aka Thi Thi, shared a few photos on her Instagram with the caption:

Baby I <3 you. I will never leave your side. I’m Bonnie to your Clyde U ARE THAT NIG!!!

Benzino also wrote:

Feel much better, GOD IS REAL @luvheraltheaheart is my SOULMATE……. MY MOTHER TOUCHED ME, IM CERTAIN.

Benzino’s nephew Gai Scott was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder.

As for the funeral, it was delayed, but it did continue.

Can’t imagine what that service was like!

It is said there was tension between the two guys but you have to wonder, out of respect, why his nephew thought it was remotely a good idea to address those issues on the way to lay Benzino’s mom to rest.  Sad story!
