LeToya Luckett Dishes On Beyoncé’s Alleged ‘Cough’ In An Old Destiny’s Child Video

Kelly Rowland Says She's the Second Lead of Destiny's ChildKelly Rowland Says She's the Second Lead of Destiny's Child 1

If you watch some old Destiny’s Child videos from back in the day, you’ll quickly make the assumption that Beyoncé may have been a mean girl. With her father managing the group, it’s easy to see how some would assume she experienced favoritism and called all of the shots.  That means watch what you say, and don’t talk out of line.
She’s definitely changed and become a better person, but that hasn’t stopped old videos from their pre-media training days from surfacing every now and again to poke fun at the group.
A few weeks ago, a VINE video circulated the net from an old interview where Kelly Rowland introduced herself as the second lead vocalist, while Beyoncé coughed and did an eyeroll and LeToya Luckett made faces.
LeToya was recently asked about the video during a sit-down with MTV, and she laughed it off while discussing the different roles that each member had:
People are making it out to be something that it was not.
So, I suddenly start getting texts on a particular day as soon as it surfaced and they were like, ‘Your face.’ And I was like, ‘What face? What are you talking about?’ And so I went and I looked and I died laughing because I don’t know where that even came from [or] why we were looking like that. Everybody is like, ‘Shade for Beyoncé’s cough,’ What if the girl had to cough? What if she was having like, an issue? It seemed like shade was being thrown, but I don’t remember throwing the shade.
She also added:
[What Kelly said] was the truth, we really would sit there and everybody knew their role. It was a real team, like, we were team players. B was first lead; Kelly was second lead; I was soprano; Tavia was the alto and she was the spokesperson. Everybody knew their lane so no one ever stepped in anyone else’s lane. That’s how every team should work.
