He made
quite an impression on Tuesday when he showed off his bulging biceps
while filming the music video for A Sky Full Of Stars.
And
it's no coincidence Chris Martin cut a more muscular figure when he hit
the streets of Sydney, with the Coldplay frontman making regular visits
to the gym in order to bulk up ahead his upcoming tour.
The
recently separated lead vocalist wasn't afraid to flaunt his buff
physique, and flexed his biceps in a grey singlet top while on set in
Newtown.
The Magic singer is believed to have hired a £110 (AU$200) an hour personal trainer recommended to him by Jay Z, the Daily Mirror reported in April.
His
training program is believed to consist of a boxing-based regime with a
source at Martin's Los Angeles gym telling the British newspaper the
singer wants to build muscle isn't after a complete body transformation.
'He doesn't want ridiculous biceps, but he wants to build some definition in his skinny arms and improve his stamina,' he said.
Martin
and his band members Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion
jetted into Sydney on Monday morning and wasted no time jumping straight
into their six-day promotional tour.
Spotted
in the inner city suburb of Newtown the following day, the British-born
musicians donned one-man-band equipment to begin filming at the
Courthouse Hotel.
In
addition to filming the band's music video in Australia, the
down-to-earth singer is expected to play just one intimate gig at
Sydney's Enmore Theatre, as part of the visit to promote new record,
Ghost Stories.
The heavyweight band will join the likes of Rolling Stones and Oasis, who have also played at the iconic art deco venue.
The
latest offering from the British band, which includes Magic and A Sky
Full Of Stars, is widely considered to be a love letter to Gwyneth
Paltrow – after the actress and Chris 'consciously uncoupled' in March.
The pair are still very close and have been pictured regularly enjoying each others' company over the last few months.
That's different! Martin was joined by band
members Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion who had
components of a massive drum set strapped to their backs while filming
the clip
The visit, from June 16 to 21, will also include making an appearance on The Voice Australia, which will air on June 23.
And the musicians are said to have already recorded a generic television special, which will air on Channel 7.
When Coldplay arrived into Sydney airport on Monday morning, Chris displayed a scratch on the bridge of his nose.
The father-of-two wore a Carhartt cap pulled down over his face in an attempt to hide the red mark.
