Boxing Star Amir Khan Arrested for Allegedly assaulting two Men in Bolton

Amir Khan was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning for allegedly assaulting two teenagers in Bolton.
The former world champion allegedly attacked the men as they returned from a nearby mosque.
Police said the men were known to Khan but neither was seriously injured.

The 27-year-old, who won Olympic gold in 2004 is alleged to have drawn alongside the men in a Mercedes C Class at around 1.30am after they
Khan then responded by saying: ‘Don’t you know who I am, I am AK,’ according to the witness.
 
One of the alleged victims is believed to have suffered an injury to his cheek and the other an injury to his leg.
Another witness said: ‘I could hear a lot of noise and I saw Amir’s car. Then I saw him get out of the car. Then he drove off and there was a man on the floor.’

A spokesman for Khan told Sportsmail: 'It was a minor incident. Amir was questioned but the case will be formally dropped on Monday'.
A police spokesman said: ‘Just before 1.30am on Friday, police were called following reports of an assault in Bolton.
‘Officers attended Russell Street and discovered two 19-year-old men had been assaulted. Their injuries are not serious.
‘A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two section 47 assaults and remains in police custody for questioning.’
