Embarrassment continues for Brazil in third-place match with a 3-0 loss to the Netherlands

The most humiliating week in the history of Brazilian football came to an abysmal close as Netherlands took a page out of Germany's book and ripped apart hosts Brazil 3-0 in the World Cup third place match at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia.

It was another inexplicably poor performance from the five-time champions who served up another shambolic display on defense, primarily in the first half, which the Dutch used to get goals from Robin van Persie and Daley Blind. A late second half stoppage time goal from Georginio Wijnaldum only added to the indignity of the proceedings for the hosts.
