In a new
interview Kanye West offers his side of the story when it comes to his
now infamous 45 minute wedding speech, why he wanted more nudity in his
Bound 2 music video, and his life as a father.
The 37-year-old also gave his thoughts on why he thinks everyone in the world needs some Kim Kardashian skills to win at life.
The rapper graces the cover of the August issue for GQ magazine and provides one of his most candid interviews to date.
Striking
a steely gaze on the cover, Kanye smoulders in a deep V-neck T-shirt
and gold chain wrapped around his neck as he sports a brown coat.
While
an inside photo sees the Yeezus artist don his now infamous leather
jogging trousers, a knit jumper, and a long trench coat.
Speaking
of how his 33-year-old wife has helped him in both his life and career,
Kanye said: 'What I had to learn from Kim is how to
take more of her advice and less of other people's advice.
'There's a lot
of Kim K skills that were added. In order to win at life, you need some
Kim K skills, period.'
Kanye also defended his 45 minute wedding speech, where he was claimed to have spent the entire time 'toasting himself': 'What I
talked about in it was the idea of celebrity, and celebrities being
treated like blacks were in the '60s, having no rights, and the fact
that people can slander your name. I said that in the toast.
'And I had
to say this in a position where I, from the art world, am marrying Kim.
And how we're going
to fight to raise the respect level for celebrities
so that my daughter can live a more normal life. She didn't choose to be
a celebrity. But she is. So I'm going to fight to make sure she has a
better life.'
