Kim Kardashian's sex tape co-star Ray J faces 10 charges including sexual battery
Singer Ray J was charged with 10
counts including sexual battery on Monday after allegedly causing a
disturbance in May at a swanky Beverly Hills hotel.
The
33-year-old singer was arrested for battery, trespassing, vandalism and
resisting arrest after causing a disruption in a bar at the Beverly
Wilshire Hotel.
Ray J, real
name William Ray Norwood Jr, made contact with a woman's bottom during
the incident but police initially ruled it was 'incidental' contact.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles however charged Ray J with sexual battery for the contact, according to a report on Monday by TMZ.
The singer allegedly was at a hotel bar when he got rowdy, brushed up against a woman's rear and was ordered to leave.
Ray J allegedly became aggressive in the valet area and hotel security made a citizen's arrest.
Officers with the Beverly Hills Police
Department took him into custody and Ray J allegedly spat on an
officer, which prompted the battery charge.
The
singer, who is infamous for starring in a sex tape with Kim Kardashian,
also allegedly kicked out a window of a police car after he was
handcuffed.
Ray J earlier told TMZ he kicked out the window because he was claustrophobic.
Prosecutors
charged him with four counts of resisting arrest, three counts of
assault and battery, two counts of vandalism and one count of sexual
battery.
All the charges were misdemeanors.
Ray J is the brother of 35-year-old singer and actress Brandy Norwood who starred in the UPN sitcom Moesha.
