Loic Remy's £8.5million move to
Liverpool has dramatically collapsed after he failed a medical.
The France international had flown out to Boston earlier this week after
Liverpool had met the release clause in his contract and he had agreed personal
terms before beginning his fitness assessment.
Given Liverpool have been based in unfamiliar surrounds, the medical had taken
longer than normal to conduct but when the results came back, Liverpool decided
they had no other option but to pull the plug on the move.
Having sold Luis
Suarez to Barcelona, they must now decide whether they look elsewhere for another
striker as Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert are the only senior strikers.
