A photographer who tried to take a picture of a killer crocodile nearly had his hand snapped off.
Mathieu Foulquie slowly swam up to the reptile in an attempt to capture the reptile's impressive array of teeth.
But the 40-year-old photographer almost has his fingers bitten off as the crocodile launches itself at the camera lens.
Mr Foulquie said: ‘When he launched at me I was really frightened.
‘Up until that point he had been resting and was just curious.
‘All of a sudden he decided to try and bite the lens.
‘It was a good job I had the housing between me and him otherwise I'd have been in real trouble.
‘I'm used to diving with sharks, but this croc was much more unpredictable.’
Mr Foulquie has been scuba diving for 25 years but this was the first time he had shot a crocodile.
