Michael Jackson's milestone 14-minute video Thriller is being prepped for a 3-D re-release in 2015.
The New York Daily News reports that the director of the video, John Landis, has been working on the project non-stop for several months.
There
are discussions for the video to land on multiple platforms, including
on Blu-ray and even in theatres, where it has never been seen before.
The news
comes as Landis has ended his dispute with the Jackson family that
involved payment for his services on the original project.
But that's all over, so Thriller is coming back.
'That lawsuit went on for so many years, (but) we settled and they paid me finally,' Landis said.
So how will it look after all of this work is complete?
'It
is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way
that is very exciting on the big screen,' Landis said, without giving
away too much.
With
the re-release scheduled and renewed interest in everything Michael
Jackson since his death in 2009, there could be a renaissance for
Thriller that goes beyond the video.
