Two-match ban for Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a two-match ban after being sent off during Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Cordoba.
The Portuguese star will will miss home ties against Real Sociedad and Sevilla and he will be available for the derby against Atletico.
The members of the Competition Committee, Francisco Rubio, Lucas Osorio and Pablo Mayor Menéndez, have decided that this is the punishment that Cristiano Ronaldo deserves for his fifth sending off in the Spanish league, which match official Hernández Hernández justified in his report for "kicking an opponent without the ball being in reach".

Real Madrid will accept the committee's decision and, failing any unforeseen twists, are not expected to appeal the player's two-match ban.
Cristiano Ronaldo was aided by two factors: it was not a repeat offense this season and at the end of the game he apologised for his behaviour on social media. "I apologise to everyone and especially to Edimar for my thoughtless act", wrote the striker.
The RFEF Competition Committee took these factors into consideration when deciding on his punishment for the incident, which was not considered excessive aggression.
