Video: Cristiano Ronaldo’s son was excited to meet Lionel Messi at the Ballon d’Or gala

 A heartwarming video of Cristiano Ronaldo's son meeting Barcelona star Lionel Messi for the first time has been revealed.

The footage, taken backstage at Monday's FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony in Zurich, shows Cristiano Ronaldo Jr being encouraged by his grandmother and father to greet the Real Madrid man's arch-rival.

Ronaldo's four-year-old son was one of the stars of the annual gala after embracing his dad on stage when he picked up his second consecutive Ballon d'Or award, beating the likes of Messi and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the process.

And the Portugal ace revealed how much his son loves Messi, telling him that he watches videos of him on the internet!
