Over the last few years, we’ve seen celebs like Beyoncé, Amber Rose and Kerry Washington announce their pregnancies on award show red carpets, as well as Ciara on The View, but Lil’ Kim might have taken the crown for having one of the best kept pregnancy secrets ever.
No one saw this coming! Not a clue!
Last night, the 39-year-old Hard Core rapper arrived at The Blonde Fall 2014 Runway Show in New York with a glow and carrying a full load as she announced that she was a few months pregnant. She told US Weekly:
I’m so excited! I’m a few months along, I can’t wait to be a mom!
She also added:
I’m still going to work! I’m still going to be hardcore. The baby has made me even more of a beast!”
Taking to the stage for a special performance later that night, she confirmed her pregnancy to partygoers, while sending a shout out to Biggie Smalls:
I’m a mom, but I can turn it up a little! It’s also going to be Biggie’s birthday and the anniversary of his death soon so we [as she points to her belly] love you.
Just a little backstory: During an appearance on an episode of VH1’s Driven in 2003, Lil’ Kim said she had been pregnant with Biggie’s child before suffering a miscarriage.
Last year, she was in a public relationship with aspiring rapper Mr. Papers, but as of year’s end, it appeared as though the two had parted ways. She has yet to announce the identity of the baby’s father.
