The formerAC Milanplayer Paolo Maldini expressed concern about his old club which is currently in eleventh place in the Italian Championship and 40 points behind the leader, Juventus.
"I feel a mixture of anger and disappointment," Maldini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Not so much because of the results, because we have finished tenth or eleventh previously, but because they're throwing awaywhat was built with hard workover the last 10 years." he added.
Maldini, former captain of Milan, five times winner of the Champions League and seven of the Italian league, believes that the loss of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG last summer precipitated the team's downfall.
"Some people think that I am biting the hand that feeds me, but it's not true. I consider myself part of the very fabric of the club and I have two children playing in the youth sector." the former international player said and then added: "Milan cannot compete with Juventus or the top ten teams in Europe. Juventus has understood what was going on and have rebuilt to create a solid group of Italians who know how to win."
Maldini also took a jab at the vice-president of the club, Adriano Galliani "He's a great leader, but he's incapable of understanding the players. He wants to manage everything on his own and that just isn't possible anymore. Before, we had a solid group of players who ruled in the dressing room."
