The first Sharknado was the shock sensation of 2013.
And
while lightning did not exactly strike twice with the creatively
subtitled sequel The Second One, it still managed to be the top trending
subject on Twitter during its premiere on Wednesday.
This
time the plot followed what happened when two separate sharknados
combined in New York city, causing one massive supersharknado.
The Second One proved divisive among Twitter users and critics alike on its debut on Wednesday
Underlining its sub B movie status,
Z-list leads Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, who survived a similar freak
storm in Los Angeles during last year's surprise cult phenomenon, where
once again forced to run for their lives and fight the ocean predators
with chainsaws when necessary.
Reactions were understandably mixed about
the shark tornado horror film among users of the social media site,
which mirrored the response of critics.
One particularly deluded fan Mojo The Great said the Syfy TV movie was 'Oscar worthy.'
Fans were divided over whether the sub B movie was good or not

Tara Reid and Ian Ziering were again faced with the most unlikely of natural disasters
However another named Carly Swanson was almost as emphatic, saying, 'Sharknado 2 is way too entertaining.'
But disappointed user Go Brewers said: 'That's enough of Sharknado for me. I can't believe I watched it this long.
The
stars also came in for some flack, with former Star Trek actor Wil
Wheaton saying: 'Tara Reid was just acting to (sic) hard, her forehead
almost moved.'
Even
cameo stars, of which there 27, including diverse names such as Kelly
Osbourne, wrestling star Kurt Angle and Billy Ray Cyrus, were mocked.
He once again grabbed his trusty chainsaw as he fought for survival amidst the raining sharks
The American Pie favourite also proved surprisingly effective at fighting off the gigantic predators
Raphael
Esguerra slated the Fashion Police star, saying: 'Kelly Osbourne proved
that she really is a talentless nothing with that Sharknado
performance. It was bad by Sharknado standards.'
The
critics were equally divided, with some appreciating the campy fun
while others saw through the facade and realised it was a simply
dreadful piece of filmmaking.
Refreshingly blunt Newsday critic Verne Gay gave the film an F+ for viewers with 'any taste' and a B- for fans of the original.
He
said: 'The good news is that The Second One often is worse (in a good
way) and does boast at least one viral YouTube clip, starring the head
of the Statue of Liberty.
