AlwaysNaija's countdown: Top 14 DJs in the world

 This is a list of the top DJs in the world right now. So, who are the best DJs of all time? It’s a crowdranked list, which means everyone gets to determine the ranking of the best DJs in the world. Who are the best DJs in the wordl? There are a lot of great house, trance, drum and bass, dubstep, and techno DJs in the world, but it is up to you to help determine the best DJ in today’s scene. A lot of people have different preferences for DJs, so make sure your voice is heard

1. AVICII
 Tim Bergling (born 8 September 1989), better known by his stage name Avicii. A Swedish EDM DJ, remixer, and record producer. Avicii ranked 3rd on DJ Magazine '​s annual Top 100 DJs in 2012 and 2013 and has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award, once for his work on "Sunshine" with David Guetta in 2012 and once for his song "Levels" in 2013. Some of his most famous songs are "I Could Be the One" with Nicky Romero, "Wake Me Up", "You Make Me", "X You", "Hey Brother" and "Addicted to You", "Dont give up on us", "Dancing in my head", "Hey brother", "Silhouette" and my favorite "The nights".

2. ARMIN VAN BUUREN
 Armin van Buuren born (25 December 1976) is a Dutch trance music producer and DJ. He is known for mostly playing progressive trance and uplifting trance.
Van Buuren has won a number of accolades, including the No. 1 spot on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs fan poll a record of five times, including an unprecedented four consecutive years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and again in 2012. He is currently the No. 3 DJ on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs poll for 2014. In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single "This Is What It Feels Like". Some of his most famous songs are "Summer parade", "Going wrong", "Shivers", Beautiful life".

3. CALVIN HARRIS
 Harris holds the record for the most top ten hits from one studio album on the UK Singles Chart with nine hits, surpassing Michael Jackson. In October 2014, he became the first artist to place three songs simultaneously on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart. According to Forbes, Harris was the highest-paid DJ of 2013 and 2014. Some of his most famous songs are "You used to hold me", "Ready for the weekend", "Summer", "Sweet nothing".

4. DJ TIESTO
 Just after releasing his second studio album Just Be he performed live at the 2004 Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens, the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympics. In April 2007 Tiësto launched his radio show Tiësto's Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands and released his third studio album Elements of Life. The album reached number one on the Dutch album chart as well on "Billboard Top Electronic Albums" in the U.S. and received a nomination for a Grammy Award in 2008. Some of his most famous songs are "In the dark", "Red lights", "In the silence i believe "Urban train".

5. DAVID GUETTA


 Pierre David Guetta (born 7 November 1967) is a French DJ and producer of electro music. Originally a DJ at nightclubs during the 1980s and 1990s, he co-founded Gum Productions and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002. Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007).
Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over", "Gettin' Over You", and "Sexy Bitch", all three of which reached #1 in the United Kingdom, and "Memories". Some of his most famous songs are "Titanium", "Bang my head", "She wolf", "Little bad girl".

5. DEADMAU5
 Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), better known by his stage name deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse"), is a Canadian progressive-house music producer and performer from Toronto, Ontario. Some of his most famous songs are "I remember", "Some chords", "Ghost n stuff ''.

 7. HARDWELL
 Robbert van de Corput (born 7 January 1988 in Breda, Netherlands), better known by his stage name Hardwell, is a Dutch big room house and electro house DJ and music producer. He was voted the world's #1 DJ on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs poll in 2013 and then again in 2014. Hardwell is widely known for his live sets at major music festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra. The video streams of his performances on his personal YouTube channel have collectively garnered more than 100 million views, and helped him gain over 2 million subscribers. Some of his most famous songs are "Spaceman", "How we do", "Zeo 76", "Dare you", "Alive".

8. BENNY BENASSI
 Marco Benassi (born 13 July 1967), better known by his stage name Benny Benassi, is an Italian DJ and record producer. He is best known for his 2003 summer club hit "Satisfaction". 
In 2012, Benassi worked a second time with Chris Brown. He contributed to "Don't Wake Me Up" which was released as the fourth single of Brown's fifth studio album Fortune. Benny Benassi also worked with Madonna, producing three tracks for her latest album MDNA: Second single "Girl Gone Wild", "I'm Addicted" and "Best Friend". Some of his most famous songs are "Feel alive", "I feel so fine", "Hit my heart", "Illusion", "Violeta Rumenian".

9. PAUL VAN DYK
 Paul Van Dyk is a German Grammy Award-winning electronic dance music DJ, musician and record producer. One of the first true superstar DJs, Paul van Dyk was the first artist to receive a Grammy nomination in the newly added category of Best Dance/Electronic album for his 2003 release Reflections. He was named the World's No. 1 DJ in both 2005 and 2006, something less than a handful of DJs have ever achieved. He was the first ever DJ to be named No. 1 by Mixmag in 2005. By 2008, he had sold over 3 million albums worldwide. Some of his most famous songs are "For an angel", "Another way", "Talking in grey".

10. KASKADE
 Ryan Raddon (born February 25, 1971), better known by his stage name Kaskade, is an American DJ and record producer. On October 20, 2011, DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, with Ultra Records, Kaskade placed at No. 30. DJ Times polls voted Kaskade "America's Best DJ 2011" and "America's Best DJ 2013". Some of his most famous songs are "Turn it down", "Call out epic ", "Angel on my shoulder", "Eyes", "Empty street".

11. SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA
                                                     
 Swedish House Mafia was a Swedish electronic dance music supergroup consisting of disc jockeys and producers: Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008. The supergroup placed at number ten on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll 2011 and have been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music. Some of his most famous songs are "Don't You Worry Child", "Greyhound", "Miami 2 Ibiza", "Save the world".

 12. STEVE AOKI
 Steven Hiroyuki "Steve" Aoki (born November 30, 1977) is an American electro house musician, record producer, and music executive. Known for energetic live shows, in 2012 Pollstar designated Aoki as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours. He has collaborated with producers and vocalists such as will.i.am, Afrojack, LMFAO, Iggy Azalea, Lil Jon, and Laidback Luke, and is known for his remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi. Some of his most famous songs are "No beef '',  "Turbulence", "Pursuit for happiness", "Steve jobs".

13. SKRILLEX
 He was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and won three: "Best Dance/Electronica Album", "Best Dance Recording", and "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical".[4] On December 5, 2011, the BBC announced that he had been nominated for their Sound of 2012 poll. On December 12, 2011, he was also named MTV's Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year. Skrillex has won a total of six Grammy Awards. Some of his most famous songs are "Scary monsters and nice spirites", "Bangarang", "First of the year ".

14. DAFT PUNK
Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo consisting of musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s house movement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synthpop. The duo's songs are considered essential in the French house scene. Some of his most famous songs are "One more time ", "Get lucky", "Around the world", "Dear boy".
