Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho has revealed that the club's players
asked Frank Rijkaard to let Lionel Messi train with the first team.
The Brazilian told El Enganche: "We, the players, asked Frank Rijkaard to bring Messi to the first team’s training sessions."
Ronaldinho
also said that although Real Madrid hitman Cristiano Ronaldo is a more
rounded player than Messi, the Argentine just has the magic which
captures the true essence of football.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is a very complete player, but Messi is better because he has magic," explained Ronaldinho.
He
also admitted that he could have joined Manchester United but at the
last minute former Barcelona vice-president at the time, Sandro Rosell,
convinved him to join Barcelona.
“I was almost on my way to join Man United.
It only lacked a few details, but at the last minute Rosell called me
to tell me they would win the election. That made everything happen
quickly."
