Ludacris’ new baby hasn’t even turned a good three months yet, and already the child support battle is messier than a dirty diaper.
Last week, the rapper and the mother of his lovechild, Tamika Fuller, were battling it out in court after she asked for $15,000 a month in support –an amount Ludacris said he could not afford — and now Luda has totally flipped the script. Taking a page out of Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade’s book, he has now requested full custody of the child plus child support.
According to TMZ:
The rapper now says in legal docs he’s a “fit and capable parent” and should get full physical custody. He offers up his parental resume, saying he’s always been “an active father” to his 12-year-old girl.

Luda has also asked the judge to force Tamika to pay HIM child support.
If you look back on these cases involving celebrities over the last 2-3 years, it has never really worked out for the woman in these situations. The man normally has more money, and can prove he can provide a better lifestyle for the child, and as a result, the woman has to give up custody of her child.
For instance, a few years ago, the mother of Chris Bosh’s first daughter, Allison Mathis, attempted to request more child support than the $2600 a month that Chris was paying (he makes $18 million a year mind you), and in retaliation he requested for full custody of their daughter. Since then, Allison has had to file for food stamps as well as a recent bankruptcy and her money problems will definitely increase the chances of Chris winning full custody.
We also know how Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife’s Siohvaughn’s custody battle turned out. Till this day, she says she struggles to see her kids. In fact, she went on Dr. Phil and he dedicated an entire show to women who lost their custody battles because their exes were rich and famous.
What Tamika may have on her side is that the baby is a newborn, and we don’t see a judge snatching the child away from her mother just yet. Not to mention, Tamika wrote on Twitter last month that Ludacris has yet to see the baby:
She has yet to meet her father and it’s unfortunate because I would never keep him from seeing her. Let’s not lose focus that an innocent child is involved and her best interests come before any of all of this foolishness.
Hopefully, these two can figure out a way to co-parent as well as agree on a child support amount that is suitable for the both of them. [$15,000 is a bit much and sounds as though the child is being used as a sole mean of income.]
In the meantime, this “battle” looks like it won’t be ending any time soon.
Poor baby Cai Bella!
