Leonel del Castillo, father of Kun Agüero, spoke to Catalunya based newspaper yesterday. He claimed that
his son wants to play alongside Messi for Barcelona and ready to leave
Manchester City.
Leonel del Castillo told Spanish
newspaper Esports COPE his son would be “delighted to go to Barcelona”
but also went on to confirm that “Manchester City makes it impossible”.
However, Aguero’s father went on to suggest that his son is happy in Manchester and will not force through a move.
Interestingly, English newpaper The Sun
went on to report on Thursday that Barcelona have made an offer of
Aguero. The Sun reported that: “Luis Enrique has signalled his intent to
shake up his squad after the Catalan club failed to win any silverware
this season. That could see the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Alexis
move on to free up funds for a swoop for the City star.” This report
makes the timing of Aguero’s fathers’ interview more interesting.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona themselves are
also interested in Aguero. New boss Luis Enrique is a big admirer of El
Kun and he also wants to partner Messi and Neymar with him for next
season.
The likes of Pedro Rodriguez and Alexis
Sanchez have failed to impress the Barcelona management last season and
they are ready to off load either both or one of the players. Luis
Enrique feels that Kun Aguero, alongside Messi and Neymar will make a
deadly combination upfront.
It is being understood that Barcelona
will offer either Fabregas or Pedro to Manchester City as part of
exchange deal as the club wants to adhere to the rules of UEFA’s
Financial Fair Play. FC Barcelona have big transfer plans for this
summer.
Barca boss Luis Enrique wants to sign at
least one quality central defender this summer. Marquinhos of PSG is
the most likely candidate to arrive at Camp Nou this summer. Barcelona
are also looking for able deputy for Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi, 34, was not able to dictate the
games last season in a way he used to do earlier and Barcelona
management is aware of his growing age and looking for a world class
midfielder. Ilkay Gundogan of Borussia Dortmund is touted as the
potential target of Barca.
All the aforementioned transfer deals
are going to require huge investment of funds and hence Barca management
is ready to sell some of their established stars.
Meanwhile Manchester City were recently
fined by UEFA for not following the rules of FFP and they might decide
to encash on Aguero in order to invest this money in more new players.
