Steven
Gerrard labelled Luis Suarez a Liverpool legend and paid tribute to the
striker following the Uruguayan's move to Barcelona.
Suarez's
£75million transfer to the Nou Camp was confirmed by Liverpool on
Friday bringing to an end a rollercoaster three-and-a-half year stay at
Anfield.
The
27-year-old scored 31 Premier League goals in 33 games last season to
help Liverpool finish second and return to the Champions League
football. He also picked up the PFA Player of the Year award for his
stunning form.
Liverpool
captain Gerrard, who alongside Suarez, helped Liverpool mount an
unlikely challenge for the title, thanked his former team-mate and
wished him well in La Liga on his official Instagram account.
'On
an emotional day for me would just like to say what a pleasure it has
been playing with an amazing talent such as Luis," Gerrard told his
675,000 followers on the social networking site.
'I
would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution on the pitch
during his time @liverpoolfc and to wish him and his family all the best
on his new adventure in Spain. #lfclegend'
