[Football Transfer] Toni Kroos decides to join Real Madrid

Real Madrid have signed Toni Kroos. The Bernabeu outfit has reached a deal with Bayern to sign the midfielder. With just a few minor details to iron out with regards to add-ons, a deal was done for €25m.
MARCA reported exclusively on Monday that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were negotiating a deal for Kroos. Barely 48 hours later the two clubs had sealed a deal for the 24-year-old German international.

Madrid took full advantage of the midfielder's contractual situation to sign a player whose market value under normal conditions would be twice as much as Real have paid.
Kroos still had one year left on his contract at Bayern and his refusal to sign a new deal put the German side in a difficult situation. Either they could keep him for a year and then watch him leave on a free transfer, or sell him now and make a tidy sum of money on him.
Real Madrid have played it smart and signed one of the best midfielders in the world at a rock bottom price. They sent out feelers, waited calmly until Bayern were ready to sell and then sealed the deal ahead of other top clubs interested in the player, like Manchester United.
