Santos, Sonda and Teisa, Neymar's three owners when he played in Brazil, are unhappy with the sums which they received for the Brazilian's transfer. They are taking stock of the situation before deciding on their strategy.
A meeting was held in the offices of the Sonda group on Monday. The parties that formerly owned 40% of Neymar's rights are willing to set aside past quarrels with Santos to work together on the issue.
As far as the sellers are concerned, the payment of commissions to the company owned by Neymar's parents was a trick to swindle them. With Barcelona admitting that it paid €86 million, the main objective is to clarify how much they are owed of an almost €30 million difference compared to the €57.1 million sum which was initially announced.
According to Sonda, there were lots of irregularities in the sale of Neymar, and there is one specific one which has escaped people's attention: Barcelona has officially acknowledged that it paid a €10 million advance to secure the right to sign the player once his contract was up with Santos. This is considered a serious offence under FIFA regulations: no dealings can be done with a player until he has less than six months left on his contract with his current club.
