RUMOR: Tom Cruise “In Talks” For Role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII?

The cast of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII seems to grow by the minute, with 11th hour casting additions still underway even as shooting on the film progresses.  Most recently, we learned that Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o and Game Of Thrones warrior Gwendolyn “Brienne of Tarth” Christie had been added in unspecified roles, and the rumor is that Abrams has been looking to fill out the smaller parts even as his attention has been shifted away with the large-scale international production.  Today’s rumor, however, is sure to spark either the ire or excitement of fans everywhere.

Word has it that veteran superstar Tom Cruise has reportedly met with Abrams about appearing in a cameo role in the film, as first reported by The Sun newspaper.  The article states that Cruise is in London, and he met up with Abrams and company for dinner, where the idea was discussed:

“On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel. JJ produced M:I5 and loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance. Losing Harrison is going to set things back a little scheduling wise and there’s some time to play around with.”
