Rihanna Tweets Support For Germany in World Cup

Since she has arrived in Rio de Janiero to watch the World Cup, Rihanna has been hitting headlines for frolicking on the beach in barely-there bikini's.

But the 26-year-old Diamonds singer decided to switch up her style from her usual daring demeanor of dressing, stepping out in an off the shoulder black mini dress for an event at the Budweiser hotel on Copacabana beach on Sunday. 

Keeping it quirky with a large nose ring and a slick of red lipstick, the Bajan beauty took to her Twitter page to tell her fans exactly who she would be supporting in the footballing final.

Posting a snap of her wearing a swimming costume the colour of the German flag kneeling on a football pitch with a small facepaint flag etched on her face, the Rude Boy singer captioned the shot: 'For my German boys'.

Clearly supporting the European team over Argentina in the last match of the football championship.

As well as showing her support through social media, the Bajan singer posted a series of selfies which showed the Man Down singer with a painted Brazilian flag on her neck with 'Pele' drawn on her cheek on Sunday.

The Barbados-born singer, who has been tweeting her thoughts on the World Cup throughout the duration of the tournament, met the 72-year-old in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday evening and confirmed that meeting the footballing icon was something ticked off her 'bucket list' on her Twitter page.

Rihanna looked delighted to have met who she describes as 'the great Pele' while the former Santos and New York Cosmos forward also looked in buoyant mood in the series of photos the pop star posted on her official Twitter account.

The Pour It Up singer seems to have been following the World Cup extremely closely as she has been posting her thoughts on matches since the opening group games of the prestigious competition.

Brazil, Colombia and Germany are just some of the teams Rihanna has supported over the past couple of weeks.

She was particularly supportive of James Rodriguez, who emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup, after Colombia were knocked out of the competition by Brazil.
