Mike Tyson
is known for a lot of things - ear biting, a nasty left hook and some
ferocious facial tattoos - but seems he can also be an angel in
disguise.
According
to TMZ, when a motorcyclist came off his bike in Las Vegas, Nevada, the
48-year-old controversial star rushed in to help.
Injured biker Ryan Chesley told TMZ that
earlier this week he was riding his beloved motorcycle when a cab cut
him off on the freeway causing him to break heavily and be thrown on to
the roadway.
That is when Iron Mike stepped in, the man says.
Having seen the accident, the Hangover star slammed on his own breaks and quickly stopped traffic to protect the injured man.
And the
boxer was not done there according to Chesley, who said Mike - who is
not known for his soothing voice - wanted to ensure the injured man did
not go into shock so stayed and talked with him to keep him calm until
paramedics arrived.
Shock
was in fact a real possibility, as Chesley told the website he has
broken bones as well as muscle, ligaments and nerve damage, and needs
shoulder surgery.
So who do you thank one of the ferocious men in and out of the ring for being there at your time of need?
The motorcyclist told TMZ he plans to thank the star by sending a thank you note and a fruit basket.
Mike,
while hailed as one of the greats of boxing, is not always thought of
as a hero let alone a guardian angel due to his very checkered past -
the sportsman has been convicted of rape, had his boxing licence revoked
after he bit off part of another fighter's ear and he has also
struggled with severe alcoholism.
Earlier this month,
the star became enraged on live television when reporter Nathan Downer
asked about his rape conviction, leading to a foul mouth tirade by the
sports legend
